American Eurocopter Delivers First El Paso Corporation EC135 at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston

April 25, 2006

American Eurocopter Corp. will turn over the keys to one of it’s most popular helicopters on Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at a special ceremony in the American Eurocopter booth. El Paso Corporation will take delivery of the EC135 as part of their offshore fleet replacement initiative.

“We did a thorough assessment of all available aircraft based on our specific needs, and we felt that the EC135 was the most suitable,” says Everett Moss, manager, aviation offshore operations for El Paso Corporation. “The EC135 provides excellent operational safety, as well as available options, passenger comfort and storage capacity, which we needed to meet our mission.”

The EC135 employs state-of-the-art technology developed by Eurocopter and offers enhanced performance in conjunction with maximum cost effectiveness. Since its market introduction in mid-1996, the EC135 has become the fastest-selling light twin-engine helicopter in its class. With enough room for 6-7 passengers plus a pilot, the EC135 has exceptional maneuverability, cutting-edge technology and panoramic visibility. The large cabin is easily accessible through large side sliding doors as well as rear clamshell doors, and can be easily re-configured for a variety of missions. Its low-noise, low-maintenance Fenestron® tail rotor also makes the EC135 the quietest helicopter in its class.

The new helicopter will be on display at the American Eurocopter booth #5817 on the show floor.
