Las Vegas Tour Company Orders Fourteen Additional Helicopters

June 19, 2006

Maverick Helicopter Tours, which specializes in tours of the Las Vegas Strip and Grand Canyon, in addition to corporate and charter wedding flights, has contracted to purchase 14 additional EC130 helicopters, bringing its existing fleet to 35. Maverick is the largest operator of its kind in the world, providing its clients with the safest, most comfortable and VIP-style service possible.

“For us, there are several selling points for the EC130 B4,” says John Buch, vice president of sales and marketing for Maverick Helicopter Tours. “One is the larger size of the aircraft, which gives us seating for seven passengers. Of course, the advanced safety features are very important to us and our commitment to our customers. Finally, the Fenestron® tail gives us that very quiet ride, which is important to our customers.”

Because it’s one of the quietest helicopters in the world, the single-engine EC130 enjoys high acceptance in the tourist and corporate/charter business. The EC130 B4 features the quiet Fenestron® tail rotor, with its noise level being 8.5 dB below ICAO limits and 0.5 dB below the Grand Canyon National Park Standard, which is the strictest in the world. The helicopter is equipped with an automatic rotor speed control system, which adjusts the engine to match flight conditions and insures a minimum noise level at cruise speed.

The cabin offers 23 percent more cabin space than the other versions of the AStar family, and can be equipped with an arrangement of either seven seats (high comfort) or eight seats. It also benefits from all the latest technological advances in the Eurocopter new-generation helicopters. The standard model’s interior finishing includes a ventilation system, lighting, and carpeting, all designed for optimum passenger and crew comfort. The radio-navigation system and integrated control panel (VEMD, GPS) allow these helicopters to fly in VFR both day and night.

“We’re a growing company, and American Eurocopter has been with us all the way, providing us with the equipment and service we need,” says Buch. “It’s a great partnership, based on a quality product!”
