JRW Aviation Takes Delivery of an EC120

September 1, 2009

Grand Prairie, Texas — American Eurocopter, the nation’s leading provider of civil turbine helicopters, delivered an EC120 today to JRW Aviation, Inc. This is the first helicopter purchased by the company and it will be used for corporate and VIP travel.

JRW Aviation is a local Texas company owned by Jim Wikert. When he was looking for a helicopter, Wikert said that he was looking for a combination of performance, styling, price and support. “American Eurocopter and the EC120 pulled everything together into the package I was looking for,” he explains. “The EC120 has a very modern look with performance to match, and the training and support from American Eurocopter has been outstanding.”

The EC120 has proven itself as one of the top selling, single-engine helicopters in its class by outselling the competition by a margin of two to one over the last five years. This popularity carries over to the global market where more than 600 EC120s have been delivered, with 125 delivered to customers in the United States.

The EC120 is powered by one Turbomeca ARRIUS 2F engine and the aircraft is known for its low fuel consumption. The aircraft’s maneuverability and low pilot workload have made it the choice for civilian and parapublic missions across the United States. The EC120 features modern technologies, such as the Vehicle and Engine Multifunction Display (VEMD), and the new generation Fenestron® tail rotor, which provides one of the most environmentally conscious sound signatures among civil turbine helicopters.
