Vision Zero Aviation Safety Awards

Airbus Helicopters Inc. created the Vision Zero Award in 2007 to promote safety in the air medical industry. The award recognizes a program or company that has demonstrated a commitment to aviation safety, spotlights specific safety initiatives and encourages the sharing of ideas so others in the industry may learn from them.

To encourage innovation in the industry, Airbus Helicopters Inc. contributes up to $10,000 to directly support the future safety efforts of a program and/or operator that promotes a higher level of safety in air medical aviation. All air transport programs and operators that are members of the Association of Air Medical Service (AAMS) are eligible to apply for the Vision Zero Aviation Safety Award.

A blue-ribbon committee panel, which consists of industry experts, reviews applications and determines the winner. The winning safety program is usually announced during the awards dinner and banquet held annually at the Air Medical Transport Conference (AMTC).
